Robot Vacuum Maintenance: How to Keep Your Dreame Running Like New
Investing in a premium robot vacuum like the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 or the X50 Ultra changes the way you manage your home. You go from manually pushing a broom every afternoon to scheduling pristine floor care with a few taps on your smartphone.
However, because these devices handle complex environmental elements automatically, they require a tiny bit of physical oversight to maintain their top-tier performance. Neglecting basic hardware upkeep will lead to a drop in suction power, navigation errors, and reduced battery life.
To keep your unit working with original factory precision, build this quick, 10-minute monthly maintenance checklist into your home routine.
1. Clear the Main Dynamic Roller Brush
While flagship Dreame models feature anti-tangle engineering, long hair and carpet threads can still wind tightly around the ends of the main roller bearing. Over time, this wrapped hair creates immense friction, forcing the digital motor to draw more battery current to spin the brush, reducing your runtime.
-
The Fix: Pop off the main brush guard under the chassis. Pull the roller out and look specifically at the two removable end caps. Hair likes to bunch tightly right beneath these caps. Use the small cleaning blade included in your original box to slash through the tangled strands and pull them clean.
2. Clean the Optical Guidance Arrays & Sensors
Your robot navigates complex spaces using an array of optical sensors, laser turrets, and depth-sensing cameras. If a thin layer of fine dust settles over these sensors, the machine can begin to "see" walls that aren't there, navigate erratically, or fail to dock properly at its base station.
-
The Fix: Use a clean, completely dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe down the front bumper lens (the AI Action camera) and the cliff sensors located on the underbelly of the unit. Never use liquid window spray or abrasive paper towels, which can permanently scratch the sensitive optical glass.
The Monthly Deep-Sanitation Protocol
Unplug your base station. Pull out the removable washboard tray from the bottom floor of the dock. Rinse it under warm tap water to clear away accumulated lint or hardened floor cleaner deposits that can clog the drainage ports.
Empty out the Dirty Water Tank completely. Rinse it out with warm water and a mild disinfectant to eliminate lingering bacteria before it can develop bad odours.
Locate the silver metal charging contacts on both the rear of the robot and inside the dock cavity. Rub them firmly with a dry microfiber cloth to remove oxidation, ensuring a seamless electrical connection when charging.

3. Track Component Health via the App
You don't need to manually guess when your side brushes or filters are reaching the end of their functional lifespans. Inside the Dreamehome App, tap your way to the "Accessory Usage" dashboard.
The software tracks the exact hours your vacuum has logged on your home map, providing an automated percentage breakdown of remaining part health for your HEPA filters, side brushes, and main rollers, alerting you precisely when it is time to fit an official replacement kit.
The Component Replacements Timeline
- HEPA Air Filter: Replace every 3 months to prevent motor overheating and preserve absolute airflow suction.
- Side Sweeping Brush: Replace every 3–6 months once bristles splay or bend outward out of their corner alignment.
- Main Rubber Roller: Replace every 6–12 months depending on the abrasive texture of your floor surfaces.
Keep Your Ecosystem Pristine
Taking just ten minutes once a month to look after your Dreame vacuum ensures it continues to look after your home flawlessly. Protect your smart home investment, maximize your machine's mechanical lifespan, and step into the upcoming holiday season with floors that clean themselves perfectly.
