My Dreame Robot Vacuum Doesn't Return to the Charging Base

Common Signs:

  • The robot completes cleaning but doesn’t make its way back to the dock.

  • It reports that it can’t locate the base station.

  • It partially heads toward the dock, then stops.

Why This Happens:

  • Obstacles in the way: Furniture, thick carpets, or wires might block the path.

  • Incorrect dock placement: The charging dock needs plenty of space around it to be easily accessible.

  • Dirty navigation sensors: Dust can interfere with the robot’s ability to map the environment.

  • Mapping errors: If the robot has been manually moved or the map was reset, it may lose its orientation.

How to Fix It:

  • Make sure the charging dock has at least 50 cm (20 inches) of free space on each side and in front.

  • Wipe the robot’s sensors gently with a soft, dry cloth.

  • If you’ve moved the dock, perform a new mapping cycle using the Dreame app.

  • Allow the robot to return to the dock without manual interference.

  • If issues persist, try resetting the saved map via the app.
