My Dreame Robot Vacuum Doesn't Return to the Charging Base
Share
Common Signs:
-
The robot completes cleaning but doesn’t make its way back to the dock.
-
It reports that it can’t locate the base station.
-
It partially heads toward the dock, then stops.
Why This Happens:
-
Obstacles in the way: Furniture, thick carpets, or wires might block the path.
-
Incorrect dock placement: The charging dock needs plenty of space around it to be easily accessible.
-
Dirty navigation sensors: Dust can interfere with the robot’s ability to map the environment.
-
Mapping errors: If the robot has been manually moved or the map was reset, it may lose its orientation.
How to Fix It:
-
Make sure the charging dock has at least 50 cm (20 inches) of free space on each side and in front.
-
Wipe the robot’s sensors gently with a soft, dry cloth.
-
If you’ve moved the dock, perform a new mapping cycle using the Dreame app.
-
Allow the robot to return to the dock without manual interference.
-
If issues persist, try resetting the saved map via the app.
